As the single largest investor along the Okeechobee Corridor, Related Companies has invested nearly $1 billion in West Palm Beach and an over 20 year commitment to the success of the city. Related Companies was named “one of the most innovative companies” by Fast Company earlier this year, the only developer to make the prestigious list.
Twenty years ago, Related had a very big idea for West Palm Beach and partnered with the City and County to create a destination and economic engine for the region. In an area many considered a lost cause, Related invested into the blighted downtown entrance to the city with an innovative idea for an outdoor, mixed-use shopping, dining and entertainment center. CityPlace, since the day it opened, has been one of Palm Beach County’s most visited retail destinations. Related has continued to invest in the downtown, even at the height of the financial crisis, opening CityPlace Office Tower in 2008, the West Palm Beach Hilton (our Convention Center hotel) in 2016 and the soon to be completed Restoration Hardware Gallery.
As a result of Related’s development of the Hilton Convention Center Hotel, The Convention Center, for the first time in its history, is not requiring taxpayer funds to remain operational.
Related is continuing this commitment to the transformation of West Palm Beach. Related is well capitalized, has the finances to build their proposed office building and is considered one of the world’s most renowned development companies.
